Emma lives in our village and is a lovely friend so it was so exciting to be asked to be her wedding photographer! Fast forward a year and the big day arrived around Easter time.
Emma and Mike got married at Dalston Hall which is a lovely big grand house near Carlisle. It is a great place for a Lake District wedding. I met Emma and her family and bridesmaids at her Mum’s house in the morning for photos and the excitement was high, especially amongst the little ones!
After lots of prep and a few tears from everyone when Emma revealed her dress, I love the soft blue colour and it went really well with the spring colours of the bridesmaids dresses.
It was a short drive to Dalston Hall where Mike and his groomsmen were waiting. Fortunately the weather was dry enough to have the ceremony outside which was amazing. The bridesmaids made their grand entrance and then Emma walked up the aisle for her moment. The ceremony was lovely with lots of laughter before the happy couple walked out under a cloud of confetti.
Afterwards guests enjoyed listening to the fabulous live singer Johnny Morton, there was lots of enthusiastic dancing and singing going on! Afterwards guests headed inside the marquee for their meal and lots of fun entrances from the bridal party!
Speeches were both funny and heartfelt and then the sunset hit which was the perfect opportunity for some more photos outdoors in the amazing grounds.
In the evening their was an amazing cake and then lots and lots of dancing. Such a joy filled amazing day. Thank you so much for asking us to photograph your Cumbrian wedding for you, it was a true pleasure. We wish you both so much love and happiness for the future. xx
