Autumnal weddings are one of my favourite. The leaves turning colour and the weather settling down can be so beautiful for photography.
Emily & Rhys had fallen victim to covid change of dates so it was fantastic to join them in October to capture their wedding day.
Van Dyk Hotel on the outskirts of Chesterfield is fabulous and is now extended to include two separate areas for weddings. I met Emily upstairs getting ready in the grand bridal suite – plenty of space there for dramatic pictures of the dress! Downstairs the pageboys were popping on their super cute buttonholes – love the idea of using lego figures for these.
Emily looked amazing in her gown drifting down the aisle and the ceremony was amazing. Afterwards the sun was shining outside for photographs with family and plenty of space for the kids to run around. The reception room is bright and airy and had lots of lovely details for the guests to see.
The speeches were both funny and emotional and then later on it was time for dancing. Such a lovely couple it was a pleasure to capture your wedding day!
