I really felt for Angela and Luke. I met them a year before their wedding for the engagement session and it was all up in the air as to whether they would need to postpone due to the pandemic.
Unfortunately they did have to postpone and their wedding changed to a February date, we were not sure what the weather would be like but wonder of wonders we actually had a beautifully sunny February day! In the Lake District that is almost unheard of! Paul and I love to photograph weddings at Inn on the Lake in Ullswater. Its on the banks of the lake and is the most beautiful place. The weather meant we could have the ceremony outside under the pagoda.
Angela looked amazing in her red gown with the most stunning big boots too! She had a long dramatic walk up to Luke through the grounds, perfect to take in the scenery. They had a string quartet too which was fab.
After the ceremony the happy couple mingled with guests and took advantage of the grounds for photographs, we managed to dodge some interested geese who wanted to get in on the photos! The reception room was dressed with lots of woodland details and a fab cake. The speeches before the meal were fantastic with lots of stories about how they met and their shared love for cosplay and chainmail!
In the evening one of their guests performed a personal blessing in the twinkling fairy lights and then we had some fun with sparklers and off camera lights (translation – me running around with a torch!)
The evening kicked off with some enthusiastic dancing, the best way to end a perfect wedding. We wish you both much love and happiness for the future.
