We have photographed a few weddings for couples with the same name so it was fun to photograph Alex & Alex’s big day in the early spring. I met Alex coming down the corridors of the Mercure Dunkenhalgh hotel in Blackburn in her amazing gown nervously waiting for the ceremony to start.
The ceremony was lovely with lots of nervous laughter before the happy couple headed off to the bar for congratulation hugs and then some photographs outside.
The weather was a little crazy with sunshine one minute and then torrential hail/sleet the next – we had to dash around with an umbrella!
The grounds of the hotel are perfect for photographs with lots of interesting places and spots for portraits together, we had lots of fun exploring!
After a few portraits with family and friends it was time to sit down for the meal. I love the table decorations and names were football themed and after the meal there was a great quiz which was lots of fun before some awesome speeches and then plenty of dancing. Alex’s dad in particular had some amazing dance moves!
