Armathwaite Hall is a fantastic Lake District wedding venue just up the road from us on the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake. Its an amazing venue with spectacular grounds so it was great to be asked to go back there to capture Kate & Robbie’s wedding day.
It was a lovely September day and the rain fortunately held off all day for the happy couple. We met Kate and her bridesmaid team getting ready in one of the rooms upstairs while the men chilled out in the bar. I absolutely loved Kate’s dress and her flower arrangements were spectacular.
The beautiful flower arch they got married under was stunning. The ceremony was fantastic and they walked out to the ever popular song with the lyrics “21st September”. After the wedding there was time for confetti, fun group photos and lots of wandering around the grounds. Kate was even up for jumping up onto the swing in the grounds for photos too!
The reception room was dressed with lovely details and there was a tempting display of cheese XL crisps for guests – every Cumbrian knows the joy of these crisps! The speeches were great and there were lots of laughter. In the evening we stole the happy couple away for some sunset photos before the first dance, the second dance had such a packed dancefloor – perfect for the evening to kick off!
