Living in Cumbria means we are literally up the road from Scotland and of course Gretna Green. The famous town that goes back in history for allowing people to get married without parental permission. Of course these days its a little easier to get married but the pull of Gretna as a famous place for a wedding is still there.
Laura and Alex travelled all the way from Cornwall with their daughter and Laura’s parents for their big day. They had the full Gretna experience with a fab horse and carriage and a piper too. They must have felt like real celebrities after their ceremony with all the tourists taking photos of them!
The ceremony was lovely and held inside the famous Blacksmiths shop where a piper played them in. Their poor daughter was not impressed! Afterwards we had time for photos with the horse and carriage and then the happy couple headed off for a little ride around the town.
When they returned we headed into the courtship maze and the area around the Blacksmiths shop for photographs, it was windy but the sun was still shining thankfully. We even had time for some leaf throwing photos too, my favourite Autumnal photos!
Congratulations to you both! It was a pleasure to capture your wedding celebrations xx
