“From day one I found Helen very welcoming and supportive. She helped me identify the  ’look’  I wanted from the days photos and how I would like this done. On the engagement shoot we were immediately put at ease and were allowed our own ideas to be put into practice (we were unsure how to do this ourselves).

On the day of the wedding we each had our own photographer which allowed our own experiences to be put into picture. We had our friends and family on the day photographed, so at ease and showing all the fun of the day exposed. The end results were so much better than we had expected and everyone so far has said the photo album has been the best they have seen.

“ Trusting someone to record our wedding was one of the scariest things until we saw phweddings.co.uk.  We decided straight away we wanted photos like that.

Speaking to Helen and Paul we found they also offered a great service at a reasonable price.  The pre-wedding shoot really helped us not to worry about having cameras pointed at us all day too.

At the wedding we got the small engagement photos on the tables which we hadn’t expected and was such a lovely thing to do – we find them randomly now at guest’s houses.  The signed picture is also a great thing to have.  We are so proud of our wedding photos as they captured the feelings of the day perfectly and vibrantly.  And Helen and Paul are such nice people they could have been invited guests with cameras!!  “

“Neither of us are particularly photogenic and dread having our photo taken, so our wedding day of all days we just wanted a few nice photos of us together! We really didn’t want an extensive posed photo set, and although we knew we would have the traditional family photos, we wanted the rest to just naturally capture our wonderful day. Paul and Helen provided just that for us, a gorgeous mix of the traditional photos with some fabulous reportage photography. We got just what we had hoped for, and so much so we were virtually unable to select photos for our album- there are just too many lovely ones we wanted to include!

Paul and Helen’s style is so relaxed we almost forgot they were there, they are such nice people who put you completely at ease- and nothing is too much trouble (including Dan going for a pre-wedding game of pool accompanied by his groomsmen and Paul!) From our first meeting in Starbucks on a wintery morning to the delivery of our photos and album, Helen and Paul have been an integral yet unobtrusive part of our planning and our post wedding comedown.  When looking for a photographer, we knew what we didn’t want rather than what we did…no formal portraits, no pictures in mounts, no shouts of ‘say cheese’, looking at the portfolio of photos that they had from previous weddings, and feeling like we were having a coffee with a mate was enough for us to call off our search; our wedding photographers had been found.

Superb reportage style pictures which really caught the essence and atmosphere of our special day, the added bonus of a getting to know you engagement shoot which our dog could be part of, we really cannot recommend them enough.  The post wedding communication has been fabulous, the sneaky peek of 5 pictures prior to our honeymoon was a real tease, but gave us so much to look forward to on our return.  Our album is something that we will look at and cherish for years to come and the prints now have pride of place on our walls – the perfect reminder of our perfect day!

“Helen and Paul were recommended by some friends and they were exactly the type of photographers my husband and I were looking for when we were planning our wedding. The most important thing for us was that we wanted memories of the whole day and not just a few official pictures of the bride and groom.

Helen and Paul arrived early in the morning. Helen joined the girls, while Paul took some pictures of the groom and his crew before he set up the equipment in church. They both took fantastic pictures during and after the service, not just of us but also of the guests. When we arrived at the venue, Helen and Paul were already there and had taken pictures of the venue, decorations and flowers. Before we had our meal, we did the official pictures which my husband and I were dreading, but it did not take very long and we ended up with some lovely pictures of the two of us (believe it or not!) and of our family and friends.

However, what we love best about our wedding pictures, are the great snapshots Helen and Paul took of us and our guests during the day. Especially the pictures of the children are amazing. We also have some funny pictures of the disco later on in the night as Helen and Paul stayed until very late.

The next day, Helen put a few pictures of us online and we were so excited to see the them. We were able to look at all of our pictures a few days later and after our honeymoon we chose which pictures we wanted for our album. Helen created a stunning album which tells the full story of our day. Compared to other photographers, Helen was very quick with the order of pictures and the album and we were more than happy with the result”

“When we first started thinking about getting a photographer for the wedding our thoughts were firstly, we want very natural pictures – not staged or posed. Secondly, we were thinking we wanted someone who isn’t obvious, but who manages to capture moments but without putting a camera in your face, and thirdly, we wanted someone who would be with us for the whole day – from beginning to the end. We got all of that with Helen and Paul. In addition to that it’s fantastic as you have two excellent photographers – not just one. That meant that Paul could photograph the men getting ready, and Helen could be with the girls. Helen made me feel completely at ease – which is fantastic – as after all getting ready on your big day is quite stressful, emotional and intimate - but Helen couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable.

I hate having my photograph taken and I always thought we should have a photographer to capture the day – to help us to remember in times to come – but I never thought I’d love my photographs and want to look at them over and over again! How wrong was I!”

“We met Paul and Helen just weeks before our wedding, when the only thing we had planned was the date. From that first night, they were full of ideas, and really helped us to pull the whole day off. They helped us search for a venue, found floral arrangements we might use, and recommended everything from dress shops to cake decorators. They really knew the business and had a lot of contacts, which was extremely helpful for us, as we had no idea what we were doing.

On the actual day of the wedding Paul and Helen were really flexible and helpful. They met us in the Botanical garden, even though it was freezing outside and took lots of beautiful pictures there which were really important to us because that is where we got engaged.  They went with us to the ceremony and when I saw the carousel outside were completely willing (and excited) to take some pictures there, even though it was not strictly in the plan. Paul was right at the front of the ceremony and managed to get lots of pictures from that angle that we never expected to have. It was really great to have Helen taking pictures at the same time because in the end if one of the pictures was taken at not quite the right moment, there was another photo of the same time.

We really enjoy our group photos, they are not stereotypical posed shots, but instead show us and all of our guests as we are, laughing, not all of us looking at the camera—it really seems to show the whole mood of the day and not just a moment in time. We really liked the way that Paul and Helen worked; they weren’t bossing us around all day to get the right shots, but rather unobtrusively taking pictures as we went about our day.

We really enjoyed working with Paul and Helen. They were a great addition to our day, they didn’t stress us at all, which is something that photographers can do sometimes, they were really flexible—going with us to the carousel and to take group shots at the stairs of our venue, and they were really friendly and great to work with.

Paul and Helen were a huge part of making our day just what we wanted it to be. We couldn’t imagine our wedding day going any better than it did.
